The Peace of God

Everybody at one time or another has found themselves in a situation or a time that we have worried about something or somebody. Some thing’s in this life are almost impossible not to worry about, like the safety of our spouse, children or friends. God’s Word says in Philippians 4:6-7“Be careful for nothing: but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made know unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

So the Lord says we shouldn’t even worry about things that can happen in life. So the next time you find yourself worrying about stuff take a deep breath and put things in their proper perspective. Pray to the Father that His will be done, and thank him for the hope we have in Jesus.

This is why I am so thankful for our Wednesday evening prayer meeting here at South Valley Baptist. We come together, let our request be known to God, as people are led we pray for each other. Then we get to hear an encouraging message out of God’s Word. I thank God for the peace that only He can provide.

Our daughter has an autoimmune disease and is currently struggling with her lung capacity as fibrosis in her lungs has decreased her capacity by 30%. My young grandson recently had two seizures & it was discovered during the MRI that his brain did not fully form. And two days ago we learned that our closest friend has pancreatic cancer. My prayers have been fervent, but I have been anxious at times. Phillipians 4:6-7 has been my life scripture for over 30 years and I am given comfort and strength from His word. Thank you for reminding me that worry is a human reaction, but God can and will give peace and the assurance that He is in control, and will provide all that we need during difficult times.

P.S. Yes, we read your blog and we are blessed by it. Thank you.
